Thanks for visiting the Marion-Grant Senior Center’s website! We hope you will visit our building, too. There’s so much going on that you’ll find lots of opportunities for play, for work, for service, for traveling, for learning, for exercising, and lots more.

Thanks to great community support and hard workers in our Center we offer many opportunities for a variety of interests and abilities. Lots of folks come to play bingo, bridge, euchre, or other games. Others come for line dancing or ballroom dancing. A faithful group is here two mornings a week for gentle exercise. Our computer class offerings include training for beginners or more specialized classes for more advanced folks. Readers enjoy the book club sponsored by the Marion Public Library. Crafters, sewers, and basket makers find fellowship on Tuesday and/or Wednesday mornings. Frequent health events include weekly blood pressure checks, periodic glaucoma checks, and other screenings. From one to three times monthly a speaker will share information on important health topics. Other volunteers come in to lead sessions on such interesting topics such as pruning rose bushes, making jewelry, cake decorating, or flower arranging.

Our seniors contribute to the community by reading in the schools, collecting items for the Salvation Army and Boys and Girls Club, helping man the Gift Shop at Walkway of Lights, City Greenhouse Project, and similar projects. Project In-Touch helps put seniors in touch with odd-jobbers as needed.

If you like to “get-away” from Grant County from time to time, you can joint one of our many day trips (like to Brown County, Dayton, Ohio, Bear Creek Farms, Wick’s Pie Factory, etc.) Quite popular are our Mystery Trips when no one knows where we’re going but ME!

LifeStream (Area 6 Agency on Aging) serves a hot lunch at 11:15 each weekday for a donation. Call 662-3315 for more information on that.

You can always find friendly faces, busy people, and a cup of coffee at the Senior Center! If you’re 55 or more years’ young, there’s a spot for you here. We’ll be watching for your visit!
